SMS Consent & Opt-In

Texts From Pets is an SMS-delivered pet messaging service for parents and legal guardians. Parents may create a Texts From Pets account without activating SMS messaging. To receive Texts From Pets pet messages on a mobile phone, the parent or legal guardian must provide a valid mobile number and affirmatively opt in to SMS messaging.

During signup, SMS consent is requested through a dedicated checkbox that is separate from the required account, age/guardian, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy acknowledgments. The SMS checkbox is unchecked by default and must be actively selected by the parent or legal guardian.

The consent disclosure presented with the checkbox states:

“Yes, I want to activate Texts From Pets messaging. I agree to receive text messages from Texts From Pets at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies based on the parent’s selected messaging schedule and use of the service. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help.”

SMS consent is optional. A parent may create a Texts From Pets account without activating text messaging. SMS must be activated to receive Texts From Pets pet messages on the parent’s mobile phone. Messages that are generated and sent are also saved in the parent dashboard for later viewing.

Parents who do not activate SMS during signup may activate pet-text delivery later from their parent dashboard. The same affirmative SMS consent disclosure is presented at that time and must be actively accepted before SMS messaging is enabled.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
